"Whenever there is decline in righteousness and rise in unrighteousness, O Arjuna, at that time I manifest Myself on earth."
β Bhagwad Gita 4.7
Gita Jayanti marks the birth of the Bhagwad Gita, celebrated on the Ekadashi (11th day) of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) in the month of Margashirsha. This sacred day commemorates over 5,000 years ago when Lord Krishna imparted the sublime teachings of the Gita to Arjuna.
The Bhagwad Gita, often called the "Song of God," is not just a scripture but a practical guide for righteous living. It addresses the eternal questions of life, duty (dharma), devotion (bhakti), and the path to liberation (moksha).
On this day, devotees worldwide read the Gita, reflect on its teachings, and commit to applying its wisdom in their daily lives. It is a day to renew our connection with spiritual knowledge and seek the blessings of Lord Krishna.
