Sacred Kartik Maas Observance

Kartik Maas, the eighth month of the Hindu lunar calendar, is considered the most sacred and spiritually auspicious month of the year. Known also as "Damodar Maas," it is especially dear to Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu, offering devotees unparalleled opportunities for spiritual advancement.

During this blessed month, even the smallest acts of devotion are believed to yield manifold spiritual benefits. The ancient scriptures declare that devotional practices performed during Kartik Maas bring blessings multiplied many times over, making it the perfect time for our 30-day Chapter 12 recital commitment.

🌟 Why This Sankalp?

Chapter 12 - Bhakti Yoga (The Yoga of Devotion) is the shortest yet one of the most profound chapters of the Bhagwad Gita. It beautifully explains the path of pure devotion and describes the qualities of a true devotee who is most dear to the Supreme Lord.

By reciting this chapter daily during Kartik Maas, we align ourselves with the divine energy of this sacred period and cultivate the devotional qualities that lead to spiritual liberation.

Looking Ahead: Purushottam Maas

Following our Kartik Maas Sankalp, we will continue our devotional journey into Purushottam Maas, the sacred extra month that appears approximately every three years in the Hindu lunar calendar.

The Glory of Purushottam Maas

Originally known as "Adhik Maas" or "Mal Maas," this extra month was considered inauspicious until it sought refuge with Lord Vishnu. Moved by compassion, Lord Vishnu blessed this month with His own name "Purushottam" (the Supreme Person) and declared that He Himself would preside over it.

Purushottam Maas is therefore considered supremely auspicious for all devotional, spiritual, and charitable activities. Those who absorb their minds in satsang and hearing the divine pastimes during this time grow rapidly on their spiritual path by the grace of the Lord.
